At Strathcona Dental Clinic, we are committed to your health and COVID-19 safety at all times. We take our sterilization and infection control procedures very seriously.
In light of COVID-19, we understand that many of our patients have questions about our COVID-19 safety practices. Please know that we are taking all precautions to ensure our staff and patients are protected at all times.
All of our staff have upgraded their protective gear, this includes appropriate personal protective equipment PPE. This may include special masks, gowns, face shields, and hair coverings. In between patients we meticulously disinfect rooms, as well as sterilize equipment.
We pre-screen every patient in advance for COVID-19 symptoms and risk factors to ensure everyone stays safe. We also take every patient’s temperature using infrared no-touch thermometers. All of our staff are also screened daily and have our temperatures taken multiple times.
We have invested in medical-grade high-efficiency air filtration systems that continuously clean the air. We have installed this in our office to help assist with COVID and other air/surface pathogens.
We have also invested in UV Light disinfection units to provide an additional level of disinfection and maintain a safe, clean environment.
Our dental team follows all the sterilization and safety guidelines as outlined by the Canadian Dental Association such as cleaning of all dental instruments and handpieces using high pressurized steam as well as ongoing surface decontamination before and after every patient. Additionally, our dental team uses disposable items which are discarded after singles use.
